Network

The Computer Network Engineering program aims to provide the student with the knowledge and skills necessary to manage networks at the level of institutions and organizations where this is done by providing the student with knowledge and skills related to the design, installation and maintenance of servers and various network equipment and support communication and problem-solving skills.

The outputs of this program can work in several fields, because computer network engineering is a required and desirable specialty from a wide range of commercial, governmental and educational organizations where the urgent need arises for experts in the field of installation, preparation, integration, maintenance and management of network performance, as well as data management, security management and the continuity of networks and systems.

The Computer Network Engineering program aims to provide the student with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary to engage in the field of computer network technology such as design, installation, and support skills for both local networks, broad networks, Internet and intranet for enterprises. This is done by developing student skills in providing technical support to facility users through maintenance of network hardware and software, problem analysis, and network monitoring to ensure that they are available to users in a timely manner. Students involved in this program are also provided with all the skills and knowledge that qualify them to occupy the position of network supervisor and who is responsible for using the originator network effectively by ensuring that the originator network design fits with the needs of the work environment within the organization and that includes the use of network resources to conduct the work effectively. It also includes the tasks of the network supervisor to monitor and amend the network performance continuously and submit proposals to develop the network infrastructure to ensure that the future needs of users are met. Because of the increasing importance of securing network resources from any cyber attack or theft of data from the originator’s network, the responsibility to protect the originator’s data and network from any potential threat rests with the network supervisor, who is qualifying students in this program with the skills required to perform this role.
